"And then there's THIS asshole..."

That perennial quote from Penn Jillette on Penn & Teller: Bullshit! barely scratches the surface on the demented rhetoric of one Sally Kern, a state Representative in the Oklahoma legislature. (Do I even need to bother mentioning she's a Republican?)

Ellen couldn't get through. But you might be able to:

SALLY KERN
Capitol Address:
2300 N. Lincoln Blvd.
Room 332
Oklahoma City, OK 73105
(405) 557-7348
District Address:
2713 Sterling Ave.
Oklahoma City, OK 73127
Email:

You might want to also question her logic for authorizing a mandate on Young Earth Creationism being treated as a passable topic in Earth science classes. I'm just saying...

I don't know anything about Mrs. Kern. I don't know her stance on anything other than the clip that Ellen aired. She doesn't sound particularly well-versed in either her topic or public speaking in general.

However, I do agree with teaching creationism in school As a former educator and someone who actually HAS done extensive research into both evolutionary theory and creationism, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the word "theory" is in there for a reason. Because there is absolutely NO proof in evolution. Adaptation, yes. Evolution, no.

Now, teaching homosexuality...well, I have to embrace my faith in Christ and agree that it is an unacceptable lifestyle choice. However, so is alcoholism, addiction, and many other things sinful man has to deal with.

I do also recognize agendas, and there has definitely been an agenda to push that homosexuality is the same as heterosexuality. That's been going on for a long time. For example, the movie "American Beauty" had disfunction running rampant--but who was the only solid, dependable couple in the entire movie? The gay couple across the street. Was that movie about homosexuality? Did it market itself in that way? No, but the subtle message was there.

Wow, long diatribe. My apologies.
